Camilo Jimenez, PhD

Co-Founder

Principal Human Factors Engineer

  • Dr. Camilo Jimenez is a human factors professional with 15 years of experience. He holds a PhD in Modeling and Simulation from the University of Central Florida, where he specialized in human-systems integration. His educational background also includes a Master of Science in Human Factors & Systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University.

    Camilo has dedicated most of his career to improving flight safety, pilot performance, and system usability through human factors engineering research. Through his academic and professional careers, he has worked on a variety of projects across many industries including, military and commercial aviation, training effectiveness assessment for the military, human – robot interaction in military contexts, analysis of incidents in healthcare and, user experience and display design.

    Camilo’s research interests revolve around expert decision making, complex socio-technical systems, intuitive systems design, and data modeling. His passion for human factors engineering has inspired him to co-found Human In Systems where he helps organizations design and optimize systems that are safe, resilient, and user friendly.

Nicole Mailloux, MD, MBA

Co-Founder

Medical Systems Research Advisor

  • Dr. Nicole Mailloux, MD, MBA, is an experienced emergency medicine physician with a strong background in clinical care. Nicole is a board-certified physician by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). She earned her medical degree from the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine and completed her residency in emergency medicine at Orlando Health, gaining extensive expertise in emergency response, trauma care, and acute illness management.

    To complement her medical expertise, Nicole earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Central Florida (UCF). Her MBA education focused on operations management and leadership, enabling her to bridge the gap between clinical practice and operational strategy.

    Nicole is passionate about patient care, knowing it thrives when healthcare providers have resilient, user-friendly systems supporting them. As the medical advisor for medical systems research at Human In Systems, she advocates for the development of efficient workflows, intuitive technology, and well-structured operations, ensuring healthcare teams can focus on delivering safe, effective care for their patients.
